I’m so excited to hear of your interest in piano lessons for you or your child. Below you will find the policies and procedures for this upcoming year to give you a better understanding of the expectations/commitment that is required.

Arrivals & Dismissals:

*Please be on time for your lessons.  My lessons are booked back to back.  If you are running late, please feel free to send me a text.  Your lesson will still need to end at the designated time due to the following student arriving for their scheduled time slot.

*When you arrive for your lesson, do not ring the doorbell or knock.  You are welcome to simply walk into my home and wait in the foyer or waiting room.  Parents are welcome to sit in on lessons or relax in my waiting room for the duration of your scheduled lesson and exit quietly and quickly so the next family can have their time using the room.  Dropping off students and running an errand is fine too; however, please return prior to the end of your child’s lesson time for pick up.

*If you have an hour time slot for siblings taking lessons, please have them come prepared with books to read, iPads, DS systems, or homework.  I have a bin of coloring books, word searches, and school supplies in the waiting room as well as a desk area this year to accommodate students for a study environment while they wait.

*Please do not bring food or drink to lessons for students or those waiting for lessons due to the safety of my puppies and for the cleanliness of my home.  If there would be a spill or food dropped, my schedule does not allow time to clean in between lessons.  If you need to dispose of items such as gum, diapers…..please take them with you.

*Please park along the street.  My husband will be coming and going throughout the evening with my children’s activities this year and will need the driveway.

Practicing:

*Regular practice is very important as the quality of time spent playing is more valuable than the quantity of time sitting at the piano.  It is very common for students to need accountability to practice the piano.  Putting together a weekly schedule for your child to practice is key to their success!  Positive encouragement giving them the time needed to make mistakes is part of the learning process.  Within time, they will master the song they have played repeatedly.  My recommendation would be daily or every other day having a quality practice between 15-30 minutes of time.

Sickness:

If your child is sick, please keep them at home and message me for a makeup lesson.  A student is allowed if they have the common cold, but if they have strep throat, fever, severe cough, please keep them home.  If your child or someone in your household has the stomach flu and has vomited within that day, please do not send your child to my home for the courtesy of how quickly and suddenly that sickness can be spread.

Tuition Policies:

Piano lessons are $25 for a 30 minute lesson ages kindergarten-adults.  Pre-school aged children ages 3 & 4 are half-price at $12 for a 30 minute lesson.

I am available for lessons Monday-Thursday as well as Saturday morning and Sunday evening.

*Tuition payments are due within the first two weeks of each month.  I accept checks made out to Jennifer Kuczynski or cash.  If your tuition is not paid by the 2nd lesson of each month there will be a $20 late fee added to that month’s lesson.

*There will be 39 lessons given to every student this year from September 2017- June 2018.  39 lessons X $25 per 30 minute lesson totals $975.  There will be a recital in 2018 and the student reservation fee is $25.  This fee is added to the tuition cost and divided over the 10 months.

*The cost is the same every month whether there are 3, 4, of 5 lessons, holidays, or missed lessons.

*If a lesson is missed due to sickness or reschedule, I will put your child’s name on a makeup list.  Please keep track as well of the lessons missed and contact me to reschedule when you have a date available to make up that lesson.

*In summary, the total tuition cost for the year with 39 lessons is as follows:

- 1 student with a 30 minute lesson is $975 + $25 recital fee = $1,000.  $100 a month for 10 months September-June.

- 1 student with a 60 minute lesson is $975 X 2 = $1,950 + $25 recital fee = $1,975.  $197.50 a month for 10 months September – June.

- 2 students with a 30 minute lesson is $975 + $25 recital fee X 2 + $2,000.  $200 a month for 10 months September – June.

- 3 students with a 30 minute lesson is $975 + $25 recital fee X 3= $3,000.  $300 a month for 10 months September – June.

Stopping Lessons:

*If you decide to stop piano lessons at any time permanently for the rest of the school year, your tuition will be pro-rated based on the number of lessons you have received, but your recital reservation fee is non-refundable as that will have been paid for the booking of the recital hall.

*If stopping lessons is needed, please look through your child’s piano bag and see if there are any books marked with my name on the front cover (Jennifer Kuczynski) and please return them to me by dropping them off in my mail box or mailing them back to me.

If you are interested in piano lessons please contact me via email through my website or on my cell at 586-212-2769.
